Chris Wirth
One Lap of America Team Driver 2010
Chris Wirth was born in Rochester, NY in October 1971 and has lived in the area all his life often dreaming of moving to warmer climates but great friends, close family and recession proof jobs have kept him in Western NY. His father also enjoyed performance cars and leased a Porsche 944 
Turbo in the late 80′s that he had brought down to Watkins Glen a few times with the Porsche Club of America. At some point his father handed him the keys to take it for a test drive (with him riding along) and the surge of power getting onto the expressway was what triggered that unused portion of his brain that now craved Turbocharged horsepower.
His first intro into sporty cars was a 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS that was purchased with the idea that 195 HP wasn’t that much more than 135 HP, but after getting a ride in a friend’s modified Turbocharged model it sunk in that it was time to upgrade. Two years later he finally bought a brand new ’96 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX that eventually got built up into a road course corner carver that could also manage 11 sec quarter mile times while still serving as a daily driver. He ran this car for several years in various SCCA Autocross events and tracked the car at Watkins Glen road course whenever he got a chance. Chris literally evolved with the industry, owning a 91 Galant VR-4, a 2005 Evolution VIII until he moved into Mitsubishi Evo X Platform.
Chris and Sean had their rookie year on One Lap of America in 2010, and placed first place in the mid-priced sedan class while piloting a 2008 Mitsubishi Evolution X GSR. They returned to successfully defend this title in 2011 with the same car.
Chris is currently employed as a Systems Engineer at Synergy Global Solutions, who is the largest technology integrator and service assurance provider in Upstate New York. Chris currently lives in Rochester, NY where it’s speculated that his favorite feature is the heated garage attached to his townhouse especiallly when it’s below 20* F outside. He enjoys a wide range of activities and can often be spotted mountain biking, shooting pool, watching a good UFC event, or playing Racquetball with friends when not turning wrenches on turbocharged cars.
