Sticker Supply Fedex Fire
Seriously, we can not make some of this stuff up. We placed the order for vinyl before last week, to make sure everything would be done in time to get the car cleaned off and put the new ones on. Everything was going well, until the Fedex truck carrying our supplies went up in flames at the end of last week.

Oil Filter Blowouts
We originally thought the blowing out of the oil filter was an isolated incident. It happened when we first fired the car up after about a minute. Well it has happened again and two times is more than a coincidence.

Engine Assembly and Magnus Lessons
This weekend was exhausting. However it was more productive to be within the realm of Magnus for two days as the same thing would have taken me weeks to accomplish at home. This weekend we hauled the car and all of the parts we had up to Magnus motorsport to install a motor and create a running car for us to take on our One Lap trip, which is almost a week away now.

Dear Marco,
I know you liked my binder of the printed Mitsubishi Evo X service manual as you proceeded to hide it from me multiple times during the visit. It was amazing how it stuck around once I agreed to let you keep the binder.
GPS Tracking One Lap
So you want to know how we are doing, where we are and what we are up to? I have GPS tracking updates enabled so I can send updates throughout the trip as to what our location is. It currently updates every ten minutes or so, but gives you a pretty accurate glimpse of where we are at.

The wrench race
This weekend the car and the team is at Magnus Motorsports to turn it into a running car for One Lap of America. Steve and Tim threw the car on a trailer and filled it with boxes of parts.

Fire Suppression in the Evo X
I never thought the budget priority would put a fire suppression system ahead of more go-fast parts, but you get a completely different perspective after you have the fire. Now a $700 fire suppression system seems like a no-brainer after rebuilding the car. (yes they can be obtained for a lot less than that)

Two Marathons One Blitz
There are really two parts of the grueling One Lap of America marathon. One is the event itself. 8 days of driving around the country, racing on blind race tracks against an armada of other cars all equally sleep deprived. The other is the race to get to One Lap of America.

2012 Beds Secured
The hotels are booked and we have some place to sleep. I know it doesn’t sound like much to book a few hotel rooms, but it balances out to be a large part of the schedule and budget on this trip. Even if it is only for a few hours, having a bed and shower to reset makes a world of difference.
